Frequently Asked Questions
Your Questions Answered
Below you’ll find answers to some of the more common questions I’ve received. If you didn’t find the answer you were looking for, feel free to contact me for more information. I’m always happy to hear from people who are interested in therapy and life coaching.

What is Therapy and how does is differ from Coaching?
Therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on addressing mental health issues and emotional difficulties, is typically conducted by licensed mental health professionals, and involves processing past experiences and emotions to promote healing and growth. Life coaching is a more goal-oriented approach that focuses on setting and achieving goals in various areas of life, such as career, relationships, and personal development. As a licensed professional therapist I have the education and the background to provide evidence based therapeutic interventions; my lived experience in addition to my education also assists me in coaching my clients.

Do you accept LGBTQ, Atheist, Religious, Black, Polyamorous, Neurodivergent clients?
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, and yes! I am a sex positive, LGBTQ affirming, Autism/ADHD affirming, and racially aware therapist who supports you and your dreams, visions, and goals no matter how and what group you identify with. I also understand how important our groups and religious beliefs are and have clients from all different backgrounds and belief systems.

What are your fees? Do you take insurance?
I charge $165 for an individual session and $175 for a couples' session. I do not take insurance for couples' sessions. Currently, I accept Optum, United HealthCare, Aetna, RegenceBlueCrossBlueShield, and HSA. If I do not accept your insurance, I can make a Superbill so you can bill your health insurance directly for reimbursement.

Do you do Telehealth? Can I see you in person?
I see most of my clients in person at my office at 2150 South 1300 East, but I also have the capability to see them virtually and often do a hybrid where I see clients most of the time in person and occasionally via Telehealth. I also see some of my clients only via Telehealth.
